Chapter 1: The Big Deal
"Hello my name is Swen Nater and I have come to your wonderful home with an opportunity which will result in your marking this day on your calendar..."
The door Closes.
Swen thought to himself:
I know that this home would have benefitted from our deluxe heritage bible and I am sure that they could have afforded the $20 purchase price because they have that shiny new 1950s Oldsmobile in the driveway. I will make a note to follow up with them at a different time when I am sure they will be more receptive. I wonder how many homes I will need to visit in this fair city before I can make my first sale? I cannot shy away from my objective to be recognized by my company as an exceptional, comet on the rise salesman. I do believe in the product and I have after all studied all thirty-nine books of the Old Testament and all twenty-seven of the New Testament Books. I am ready to have a very good discussion of the Christian Mission here on earth and our ultimate objective in heaven. Lord, I just need that opportunity to share Your Good News. Well here is the neighbor’s house and they have a 1947 Ford Coupe in the driveway. Maybe I should suggest the Superior Heritage Bible at only $15.
"Hello my name is Swen Nater and I have come to your wonderful home with an opportunity which will result in your marking this day on your calendar with a special indication of this was the day that the Lord has made."
"What are you, a bible salesman?"
"Why mam I am the purveyor of the Good News and I would like just a little bit of time to share the Word with you and to see if this product could become the most valuable heirloom in your family."
"OK, so I am going to test you with three questions on your knowledge and then if you answer correctly then I will let you in and you can show me your wares. OK?"
"Sounds good to me."
"So, who was the great prophet in the Book of Nehemiah and what was his clear message?"
