Following is the poem Footprints with a focus upon the need at times to storm heaven ever with Jesus at our side. This is also a review of my walk with Jesus over a lifetime.
-
God is with us in our dreams.
-
God is with us in our daily walk.
-
God is with us in the hard times.
-
God is with us as our companion.
-
God is with us never look back! No regrets!
-
God is with us in our loneliness.
-
God is with us in our sorrow.
-
God is with us, why should we fret?
-
God is with us, when we need direction.
-
God is with us, in our decisions.
-
God is with us as our guide.
-
God is with us in our difficulties.
-
God is with us in our confusion.
-
God is with us as our loving father.
-
God is with us always.
-
God is with us as our strong provider.
With my boot prints in the sands of my life it is easy for me to see that Jesus was walking with me and at times carrying me through the periods of toil and suffering. The footprints of Jesus changed over time to include those of a grandchild squealing with delight, a mother carrying oppressive heavy burdens, a father dealing with PTSD from WWII, a woman with a walker, a husband who has lost his wife, a mother who lost her only son, a man dragging a bottle of oxygen, a man behind bars, a young boy behind bars, a Pastor carrying the parish burdens, a businessman caught up in the glamor of the secular world, a woman on death’s bed praying the Rosary for others, a man on death’s bed complaining that he had not accomplished something,
These were the many faces of Christ which I have come in contact with during my life. Each of them allowed me to minister to them. But I found great peace in accepting their love and their ministry to me.
